So my Sonic is back at the dealer again. This time it's a suspected waterpump leak - diagnosis to be finalized tomorrow or early next week as I rolled into the shop as techs were about to leave for the day.
Service advisor mentioned that he's seen a noticeable number of 1.4T Cruzes come in with a leaking waterpump, which - according to him - is being replaced with an updated unit due to a seal issue.
Anyone here had a waterpump leak issue?
I first noticed that my coolant level was getting a bit low. I topped it off a few days ago and today as I was leaving work I noticed a palm-sized puddle on the waterpump side of the motor (passenger side).
Chevy Customer Service reps - if you guys are reading this, is there a way I can PM you my info and you can pull up my previous case number? I would like to talk to the gentleman that managed the case last time. He gave me his info but I don't have it any longer. I would like to discuss the matter as he's encouraged me to contact him directly if I were to ever run into a major repair issue. Dealer advises that it will be 3 weeks before repair is completed. If it does that that long, my Sonic will be in the shop for nealy 2 months in 12000 miles.
