Hi everyone,
I was checking out my engine air filter today to check if it needed to be replaced, and I inspected the air intake tube and housing while I was at it. I noticed on the engine side of the filter housing, so the top half, there was what looked like this white secondary filter, almost like little pouches stuck to the top side of the housing. Is this a secondary filter, or a primary filter failure indicator?
What concerns me is that it's dirty looking. Im a heavy equipment mechanic myself, and if a secondary air filter is dirty on a machine, in generally means that the primary has a puncture or some other defect. I can take a picture if need be, forgot to do so while I was in there. Any insight?
