Hello all,
I have a 2012 Chevy Sonic 1.8 5 speed trans with just under 50k miles on it.
Since I got the car there has been idle issues that the dealer has been unable to duplicate. As time goes on they seem to have gotten worse.
When I first got the car on first initial start up idle would jump to 1.3k rpm and hold. (yes I know this is normal) but while this is happening the car seemed to vibrate a little like is was miss firing every now and then. This problem was more noticeable when temperatures were really cold out. I brushed this off as it wasn't causing other issues. Dealer also said they couldn't find the problem.
When I hit about 35k miles I noticed at idle every now and then it would drop from 1k rpm to about 800 rpm and then back up (like bogging out/dropping idle) The car has never died. Took the car into dealer. No issue found. Brushed this issue off and lived with it.
Well now as i'm getting close to 50k the issue has gotten worse. The idle drop happens really often almost every time I sit at an idle. The problem gets really bad when you put the engine under heavy load. Like when the ac is on full blast. You can feel that the car is loosing power from being under load but this is so bad that it looks like I am new to driving a stick shift car (jerking all over the place/unnecessary rpm revs). The rpms drop so quickly while trying to shift its insane. Sometimes I have to rev match just to keep the rpms up enough to not make the car jerk all over.
I have a brand new air intake hose as it was cracked like normal. I have cleaned the throttle body out. I have run injector cleaner/fuel treatments. Car has had regular 3k mile oil changes (yes I know it is over kill in some peoples opinions).
I will link a video from youtube that I took. All I am doing is getting the rpms to about 3k-3.5k and just pushing the clutch in and letting it drop all the way down. You can see the idle bounce. The air is on in this video as it makes the problem show more often. The car will still do this with the AC off.
I am still having both issue. The cold start up and the dropping idle issues. I have had it a few times on first start the car will violently shake until initial start up is completed.
Side note: No lights on the dash EVER.

Other video from about 12k miles ago of just sitting at idle. and rpms bouncing.

All help will be appreciated as I am getting no where with the dealer.
