Also if you dont have something to read temp, it takes a while to get to the required temp for checking level.
I can only hit 180 after a long drive

I just got an ultragauge
scan gauge, obdII bluetooth reader with torque app all work too

on the cruze forum they said you can use an infared thermometer...
but that is probably less accurate and harder

There have also been several TCM program updates over time for the 6 speed auto transmission. Mine has been done a few times, mostly for hard downshifting.

Something to also look at to make sure you have the updated configuration installed.
