auto transmission compatibility mods.

Looking for ideas on what I can do to get the most hp and still have reliability on my side.
What's been a Proven number on hp with automatic transmissions.
Has anyone found a good front mount that clears the auto transmission.

According to gmpowertrain.com, the 6T40 (MH8) has a max input of 180hp and 177lbs-ft. That rating is likely the max while expecting no loss in reliability.

BNR's test-mule Cruze proves that this transmission can actually hold considerably more power.

The auto has been shown to handle more hp and tq than the manual (w/o upgraded clutch).

Check the link in my Sig to see how much power you can make. You'll notice one thing about any car making more than stock hp or tq and that's Tune, Tune, tune ,TuNe

Trifecta's the mainstay tune around here but Vermont Tuners (VTuners) is very comparable.
Both are simple to use and require little from the end user except for money and ability to follow directions on a laptop or handheld.

love my 1.8L. theirs days i wish i had the turbo. but who doesnt wish that. back to the 1.8L. Right now i have the 1.8L Intake system from DDMworks with the Uni-Foam Filter and a Custom Bent, Magnaflow Exhaust system from the 2nd CAT back at 2.25" Pipe Size. No Resonator. and my sonic has been running great with that alone with no tune.

I plan on getting the tune eventually. When i have the funds to do the Header, Downpipe, Upgraded Hi-Flow 1st CAT and remove the 2nd CAT, i will get the tune as well. But thats all a dream at this point for me.

THats some serious cash to do all that at once. But boy i know with just what i got now it gets up and goes, can only imagine how it will run with all the rest done too.
