well while we are waiting for trifecta to send us our new re tune to continue our scr 8040 vs. trifecta test we worked on something else.
after we installed the k&n intake the intake man air temp went ballistic, with stock intake man temp ran about 5-10 deg. above outside air temp at a steady speed aprox 60-70. installed borla exhaust and it dropped to 3-5 above oat. installed k&n intake, cant get the man temp below 11-14 deg above oat. so we developed this small intake scoop that mounts on the back of the hood and wraps around under the hood across the cowl and into the air filter box. it just sticks on, no bolts, no holes in the hood, and wow does it cool. at 50 mph man air temp is 2-4 deg above oat, I took it out on rt 80 and ran at 70-75 and the outside temp was 71 deg and the intake man temp was actually at 68-69 fluctuating, lower than oat, that's pretty good. we are going to try and seal the shield completely to the car so no eng compartment air gets in the intake.
