Hey everyone, this is my first real post here. Has anyone looked into/had any luck with installing an Apple CarPlay compatible system in their 2016 Sonic? I know it comes standard on the 2016 Spark and the 2017 Sonic.
Why not just buy an aftermarket radio? My Pioneer AVH-4200NEX has Apple car play and Android auto. With an adapter I'm able to retain steering wheel controls, integrated Bluetooth, and Onstar.

is it possible to swap out a newer headunit into a older car? it looks like it would fit physically but i don't know about what the plugs or programing is like. i found a unit already ebay 160 bucks
If you have the uf7 head unit apple car play will only work when connected via usb port in upper glove box. I have not tested this myself but did verify thru infotainment that it is there but only works via usb after the latest update... Apparently it was hit and miss before update.Hey everyone, this is my first real post here. Has anyone looked into/had any luck with installing an Apple CarPlay compatible system in their 2016 Sonic? Not compatible... I have been speaking with cheavy about this because of the lockup issue with the pandora app when receiving a phone call... The service dept has done it before but its really expensive because they litterally have to change a good portion of the main wire harness... But it seems to me there should be a quick fix but they are dragging their feet...Has anyone tried this yet?
