Figures, haha
Man I love your ride, I read that whole build back when I got my car. I worshiped the storm trooper haha

You should see if you can figure out a way to do away with the intake plenum and go with an ITB setup. If the 1.8L uses a MAF sensor like the 1.4L and not a MAP, you would have your work cut out for you. But it would sound soooo sweet!
Also, you manual or automatic?
Thanks, it's always funny to me to see how far some of my picks have traveled of that Sonic. But actually sold the Trooper because had 115k ish miles in 3 years. Bought a 2016 and slowly working on that thing too. No theme this time so who knows.

DDM Works for intake.
BNR for tune and header.
Whatever exhaust you like.
That's about it for us 1.8 owners man.

Any good leads on a deep aggressive exhaust system?

I don't have exhaust so can't help there. Best bet is go on YouTube and type Sonic 1.8 exhaust and see which combo you like most. The DDM intake alone makes my car have a nice rumble, still slow but sounds amazing lol.
