I've added the Momba wastegate and tested and now have the right spring with right preload. This last mod with BNR tune, midpipe back zzp exhaust and GM performance intake 93 octane now best 0-60 is 7.3 seconds, 1/8 10.0 seconds, 1/4 best is 15.6 seconds. Previous best with same mods with stock wastegate was 0-60 was 7.86 seconds, 1/8 10.3 seconds, 1/4 was16.3 seconds. Draggy app just updated on Android to record video so I attached video but this didn't have my best time but still cool to see run.

Dragy videos - these are exported from Dragy app to my phones folder the video is maybe 2 ms slower. I noticed my voice was noticeably deeper compared to the video directly from dragy app.

2017 Sonic 1/4t automatic. First this car is by no means a fast car so please take this data for information gathering only as I did not try to get best 0-60 and 1/8th mile time. I enjoy tuning vehicles and wanted to share my results. I used no break torque to get consistent data.

Conclusion is that the midpipe back zzp exhaust with tune netted the best result overall. Also BNR tunes run very rich with stock injectors and the 42lb injectors. 42lb inectors are not work the investment unless you're looking to upgrade turbo or run E85. I'm sure with the upgraded wastegate that I ordered I'll see a nice gain and will probably best value mod for $120 besides the zzp exhaust. Feel free to discuss.

All runs done at 82-85 degrees no break torque. 2k brake torque took average off of .3-.5sec. best time so far 7.86sec and 10.3 sec 1/8th 66.86mph

• Used Dragy for 0-60 and 1/8th mile times and Torque Pro with Realtime Charts for the data log.

• Stock average 10.0sec 0-60 and 1/8th mile 11.2sec
• Stock tune w/ GM performance intake average 9.5 0-60 and sec 1/8th mile 11.0 sec before ecu pulled boost and code
• Stock tune w/ GM performance intake and zzp exhaust average before ecu pulled boost and code 9.6sec 0-60 and 1/8th mile 11.1 then once ecu pulled boost average10.1sec 0-60 and 1/8th mile 11.3sec and slower
• BNR 93 tune w/ GM performance intake average 9.1sec 0-60 and 1/8th mile 10.8sec
• BNR 93 tune w/ GM performance intake zzp exhaust average 8.4sec 0-60 and 1/8th 10.6sec
• BNR 93 42lb injector tune with w/ GM performance intake zzp exhaust average 8.3sec 0-60 and 10.6sec 1/8th
• BNR E85 42lb injector tune – TBD
• BNR 93 42lb injector tune with w/ GM performance intake zzp exhaust and upgraded wastegate – TBD

Yeah pretty much par for the course. I short shift my manual at 5500. The auto is slower, but, if im not mistaken, with the tune, it calibrates the tcm to be a little more aggressive.

Correct there is a tune for the trans that makes it shift a bit more aggressively. The Bnr tune has a bit to much part throttle boost for my taste and I'm going to request a tune thsts more linear.

For the money spent for a drag day grab the Dragy. It's accurate to 1/100th of a second.its hard to find a place to do full 1/4 mile runs but for data logging 0-60 is easy. Then go to track for full runs.

That's soft limp mode. I'm guessing that it isn't overboosting like mine does, because that happens at 23.5psi. I might guess that you have knock retard "KR" happening, and cutting the boost. I have dealt with what I feel is fake knock, and have had my tune set to disregard KR requests to an extent.

Log it and send it in.

Also, did you request a low boost tune? I was commonly at 14psi stock, my tune is set for 21-22.

Thanks for the info. All my data log test have been with obd link using torque pro app with the real-time charts plug-in custom chart I setup to read boost, rpm, afr, speed, intake temp and estimated hp and tq. So all boost numbers are read from car sensors so don't know if actual psi is correct or not. But it's perfect for collecting info.

I just installed the wastegate and have been playing with springs and arm tention and initial testing have gained about .5 sec so far 0-60. And I know I should have done it first but I built a Boost leak tester and will test that soon as well. After all that I'll data log and send it in for a revised tune. All said and done I should be in the mid to high 6 seconds 0-60 and mid to low 15s for 1/4 on an automatic which I think is perfect and not to much stress on thr motor. Not looking to make it a drag car. Just a fun daily.

Hello, heven't done much other than an updated tune with the Mamba WG. It's a bit faster with a a best 7.1 0-60 and 15.3 quarter but that's been in the cold weather and traction is not there. Not trying to break any records. Not much more I can do other than port the intake and recirculation valve as stock is probably leaking boost with the stock spring.

And haven't been to GL or Byron in years since back in 2005 when I used to have an Srt4. I got the Dragy to have fun with the car and my motorcycle and honestly no other friends that are into motorsports. But I'd be down to go if there was ever a cruze/sonic meet.

Also went with Mamba WG because no one else has used them and wanted to try something different. Also cheaper and comes with different spring rates so tunable. I'm going to try and measure for one of their recirculation valves too. I have a contact that helped me with the WG so we'll see.

I think the porting will shave another .1-.2 seconds. A new recirculation should keep the power band more linear and less surgy. I'm thinking you can hit 15 or maybe a hair lower. 14's for Sonic is good on an automatic. The manual could run mid 14's then

Agree, just haven't decided if I want to buy a used or new intake manifold to port. I saw some new Dorman manifolds for only $160 so may try that to port. Along with upgraded recirculation valve and maybe a fresh tune should be good for another 2-3 mph. With the 93 tune I'm already at 90 mph 1/4 mile so 92-93 is good for high 14s. And maybe a bit more on a e85 tune. More than happy with that.

Honestly, wouldn't even bother getting a new manifold. Pull the stock one you have out now, apply the PCV fix. Get that die grinder in there. Profit.

Go to LKQ or Pick N Pull and get one from a Cruze (or a Sonic, but I haven't seen one yet in a yard). If you buy anything of substance, the plastic stuff is usually free. I bought Leather seats for about $150, and brought home all kinds of trim panels, Eco Panels, Trunk chrome, and an intake for the same amount.

I tried to get the Cruze meet last year up here, but I guess I needed more help to pull it off. I have been toying around with the thought of a regional meet that would include GL's. We'll see.
