Talking Stancetastic Sonic

Well, finally decided to make a build thread. lol

Originally planned on leaving my Sonic as a relatively stock (and functional) daily driver despite making a bunch of stanced Sonic photoshops, but everything changed once I got rid of my project car... RIP ST162 Celica. You will be missed dearly. :'(

Anyways, I'm sure no one wants to read that sappy story, so I'll just jump straight to listing out mods and picture dumping. lol

Currently aiming for the low and slow/stance/flush look, but we'll see how that goes. This car is too fun with the tune and little things here and there. lol

Vehicle: Silver '12 Sonic LT Turbo Hatch

Mods: (in chronological order)

-Premium Trifecta Tune. (ordered from BNR literally right after I purchased my Sonic. Seriously, I already had paypal opened on my phone before signing the paperwork.)
-Ultragauge
-B&G Prototype Lowering Springs (Sold to $ub$onic)
-Visual Garage Shark Antenna
-BadlanzHPE 2.5" Electric Exhaust Cutout
-DDM Shifter Bushings
-Intake resonator delete
-BC Coilovers from a Chevy Cruze (Purchased from iraqivet)
-Plastiderped chrome part of Chevy badge (removed)
-Random mustache found on the ground (removed)
-Tux the Linux Penguin!
-Totally random Ground Control/Eibach Celica rear coilover springs: Had these lying around from when I had my Celica, and decided to slap the rears on for lulz. Still not low enough, but it'll do for now. :/ lol
-Plastiderped rear bumper

Waiting to be installed:
- Smaller Front Springs from previously mentioned Celica coilover sleeve kit
- Motorsport Tech Adapters 15mm 5x114.3 to 5x105
- 18x9/18x10 et +40 SBC AutoCouture Function DS (Valente)

Future mods:
-Considering a body/lip kit from Thailand. Debating between the AT-1 kit and the Carbon fiber kit. Still undecided.
-Front License Plate Relocation
-TBD
-TBD
-TBD
-Something with a mustache
-Something that quacks
-TBD

When it was on B&G Springs:

Exhaust: (Don't have any pics of it with the electric cutout at the moment... See the Electric Exhaust Cutout thread for videos)

Too low for me personally but looks better than the stock 4x4s do! Now lets see some lowered sedans!!!

How rough does it ride? My LTZ with 17s and stock suspension is a tad harsh over rough roads....

Wonder what ever happened to the b&g springs

Still love your car. It's refreshingly clean and lowered

Thanks!

As mentioned previously, I didn't bother getting pics after I got the electric cutout on. See this link for videos of it in action.

haha yep. Decided that the BBS wheels weren't wide enough for my taste.

When I initially installed them, I adjusted them wrong by adjusting the spring perch rather than the whole shock body (resulting in no preload whatsoever). Because of this, my ride quality is absolutely horrid. lol
Still haven't had the chance to fix my coilovers yet. -_- I intend to get that all sorted out before putting the new wheels on.

Note to those that intend to get coilovers in the future: Be sure to put antiseize on the threads before installing them! Otherwise they'll seize and become even more of a pain in the butt to adjust!

Thanks a bunch everyone! ^_^
Pretty excited to make more progress.

Most likely going to sell the coilovers if anyone's interested. I want bags. lol

Test fit with normal stagger:
