Default Manitoba and Winnipeg area.

This might be pointless since I've seen maybe 5 other Sonics around Winnipeg in the last few months. But who knows?

Smile One more today!

It would be nice to see a group. I belong to the Manitoba Pontiac Association but since there are no more Pontiacs been buying Chevrolets for my daily drivers. Love my Sonic!

There's at least 4 of us around including Emersonic, but I haven't quite hit "enthusiast" yet. About the only mod I have planned is hanging a tree on the rearview!

Who knows, with the base 2012s Courtesy was selling for 13k all in, maybe a few more Sonic owners will show up.

You should start seeing a couple black Sonic RS's in Winnipeg nowadays. I purchased one a few weeks ago, and I've seen another one parked downtown since. Murray Chevrolet can't keep them on the lot, they're bought within hours of them showing up.

I'm definitely seeing more of them driving around than I did several months ago.

We don't seem to have anything official going on. There's a bunch of Sonic owners in the area but very few of them are on this forum. And one of them gave up on his Sonic not that long ago.

Well, as of today 12:00 noon there is another Sonic on the road. Actually it is parked in my parking spot but soon will be on the road. Look for me it's the bright red one. Are there any things I should be on the look-out for as i'm breaking in this car? Any little quirks?

Regards;

Ron

Welcome!

Everyone seems to have their own break-in procedure. The manual vaguely states not to do full-throttle starts or drive at a constant speed for the first 800km, and to avoid hard stops for the first 300km. Follow that and you should be ok.

If you plan on owning it long-term, I'd suggest ignoring the oil-life monitor and get the first few oil changes every 5,000km.

As for quirks; do you mean common problems? Swaybar endlinks failing prematurely seem to affect all models. The only real complaint I have with the car is that the auto-headlights are waaaayy too sensitive.
