Does anyone have an RS automatic and actually use the thumb shifter? I'll admit, when I first git it, I thought it was the silliest way to manually shift an automatic. I refused to use it. I even read a review that was critical of it. Then I got bored and started playing with it. It took a bit to get used to it. Then I quickly got the hang of it. Now I use it all the time. I'm winding the engine out constantly for good reason because that little button is TOO convenient. It speaks to the inner laziness in me to just keep flicking the switch and get way more power out of this little car.
I can totally drive a stick and have owned a few. I got the automatic because my wife can't drive a stick and has absolutely no desire to learn. Now I'm kind of glad I didn't get the 6-speed. I live in the city and all that clutching and shifting gets old quick. Do non-RS's have the little switch? I see Chevy advertising the switch now in some SUV. And to be honest, it's paddle shifters that seem kind of like silly overkill after just flicking the little switch around for weeks now. Ha!
