Hello i am wondering if anyone who changed there exuast actually got curious and opened up there stock exaust muffler to see whats inside some do for fun I had changed my exaust to the zzp cat back stainless without resonator a few years back and had several issues 1 the pipe diameter 2.25 without a tune was overkill 2 since i have cx racing coilovers and slammed it the axle would hit the pipe with passengers or big dips in the road not so with the stock diameter pipe 3 i was not happy with the zzp muffler sound i sold the exaust and went back to stock 4 i live in the worst state for mods Ca.
I removed my resonator a few days ago a shop cut it off and put a pipe in its place with a flanged front section so it would be easy to put back on if i wanted later i thought it would give me some noise out the back inside the car there is no difference at all and only a slight difference out the muffler not much but the tourqe at take off was noticeble the resonator is straight through but has a big chamber that goes to the side and forces the exaust through the big body area and comes out a small opening inside the main pipe. I also had my stock muffler off once with just the resonator on and it sounded just like having the zzp muffler has the fart can sound did not like it .
