Do you have a desire to Off-Road but drive a Sonic? Well this could be your chance to do both!
I'm selling my lifted setup from my Sonic which includes Suspension, Wheels, Tires, Roof Rack, and Thule Basket.
This is a DIRECT SWAP! No sketchy mods needed, no backyard jerry rigging required! All thats needed is some basic know how of taking apart your suspension and swapping the new setup on!
The front springs+struts just bolt in, just remove the knuckle bolts, swaybar nut, and top nut and swap. The rears just require that you remove the old strut and spring and swap the upper mount over to the new strut (one 15mm nut).
Then all that is left is tighten everything up and get an alignment and you are off to conquer dirt roads everywhere!
The ride is Very nice, a bit springy and cushy, more so than the stock springs and struts but with added ground clearance and suspension absorption.
The Mud Tires are BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM2's and they are on Sport Edition wheels. The Tires have 90% life left, they have maybe 15,000 miles on them but because the Sonic weighs so little, it seems to have done little wear.
The Rack is a Rhino Roof Rack with locks and the Basket is a Thule MOAB basket, it measures 40" wide, 53" Long, and 8" Tall. Currently it is reverse mounted on the rack for a lower profile. Its the perfect spot to store the FULL SIZE SPARE.
With the mud tires and lift kit installed there is minimal rubbing. the only time you will hear any rubbing is during full turning lock where the tire will just barely touch the inner fender liner and make a rubber squeaking sound. On my sonic the only evidence of rubbing is light scuffing on the inner liner. It wont eat away at it or catch on anything.
Capabilities with this lift kit include:
-Hitting potholes and not caring
-Flexing with your jeep friends on curbs and mounds
-Not getting stuck
-Barreling down dirt roads with no consequences
-Getting lots of odd looks and thumbs up from trucks
Pros-
-Looks cool!
-Rides nice
-Fun to run over stuff
-Curb clearance
-Storage in the basket
-Full Size Spare
-More offroad adventures
Cons-
-Lift + Basket + Heavy Mud Tires = Less than great MPG's
-Mud Tires are a bit louder than normal tires
-If your Sonic isnt tuned, it will be slower
Lift kit and Mud tires are sold as a set!
Roof Rack and Basket sold as a set but may be negotiable.
All items have wear, Scratches, scuffs, this is not a beauty mod, its a used lifted setup.
Lift Kit Only - SOLD!!
Basket and Rack - $250 SOLD!!!
If you Attempted to Piece this kit together, it would run you over $2000 so please don't low-ball me $300 less.
If you have questions feel free to message me, Everything is located in Madison Heights MI.
More Pictures are in the Garage on my profile.
