Lead Foot
Not sure if this works for automatic Sonic's, but it works for manuals.
I took out the center power outlet and put in a dual USB power port. It only charges, there's no connectivity with the Mylink, but it provides power to my phone or computer pad...
Simple
Step 1:
Get the part. I chose eBay...kinda cheap, but it works. Careful with the bottom, it can pop out. I superglued mine!
12V Dual Port USB Car Motorcycle Socket Splitter Power Adapter Charger For Phone
Step 2:
Remove the OEM power outlet. I used a flathead to gently pry it up around the edges till it popped out. Unplug it... two wires. The black is ground. Cut enough wire so you can reinstall it should you wish
Unplugged.
Leave enough wire to reinstall later if necessary
The wiring is wrapped in a cloth like electrical tape...caution
Test powered... Blue light on when car is on
installed... a little sanding of the OEM hole is necessary...just a little.
Done... the flat plate that comes with it isn't needed. There's a plastic nut that screws into the part to hold it from the underside...good hand tight!
All done..
