In February 2016, I ran over a street median, (missed my exit, made a u-turn, on a VERY dim street) which has caused the front left wheel bearing to hum around 40-48mph. I was told by the dealership that to just replace both front wheel bearings would be $800. I've found a few sites online that offer the wheel bearing for much cheaper. Usually $35-$60. Some are just the bearing, and others say 'Wheel Bearing and Hub Assembly' The Wheel Bearing and Hub Assembly look larger than than just the Wheel bearing. Which one would I need to purchase so I can install it without pressing the bearing into whatever part everyone keeps telling me about. How difficult would it be to replace it? Could I do this myself? Could someone provide step by step directions? RockAuto, and CarID.com both have the part available. It's a 2014, Chevy Sonic 1.8L LT Sedan.
