I actually only had one issue with my set and that only happened one time with the halo not lighting. they all have worked great since that one hiccup. and even if the inverter gives out, simply cut it out, and splice in a new one.
i myself dont mind once a great while paying for a new inverter if need be vs paying out the rear for a retrofit set. but thats me and my opinion on that. not saying no one else shouldnt go the other way. some cool options can be had doing it the other way for sure. But this is the route i chose with my setup.
Again, so far, ive had only one hiccup and since no issues with the set with the halos already installed.
