I just replaced the purge valve on my sonic and the failed part on my sonic was Bosch. Would that have been from the factory? I was assuming it would be ACDelco.
Yes. . . I replaced one recently and it was also Bosch. They make good parts. They make many parts for all car makers. That solenoid is just a high wear item. Buy it on Amazon for $35 or so. Also, if you over fill your gas tank a lot, it will wear it out faster as fuel can get up inside of it.
Germans have instructions like "The user must now decide on a subscription". Because the user must, other options aren't considered.
... anyway so the first Bosch part I bought was in the early 2000's at a time M3's were demigods and Audi's were afterthoughts. It was an alternator for a G body, I thought I was exclusive since my part was made in Germany and not the US. I sent out for a warranty and life was good. Turns out the backwoods mechanic would build my next junker alternator for 1/3 of the price and did some electrical voodoo magic which helped it live twice as long + not die with two 12 inch subs. Now everything is made everywhere and German parts aren't exciting.
