The M32 Martyr
A little math to start...
Bone stock Sonic = approx. 2700 lbs/140hp
19.3 lbs/hp
Tuned and lightly modded = 2700 lbs/170hp
15.9 lbs/hp
Let's say you put your tuned Sonic
on a diet goal of 150 lbs. = 2550 lbs/170hp
15.0 lbs/hp
Dropping a pound per horsepower is substantial and noticable. I can tell you from experience that when I lugged my 13 lbs bowling ball around on my gixxer it felt sluggish. 13 lbs on a 500 lbs sportbike (1991 mind you) is a 2.5% increase. 150 off of a 2700 lbs Sonic is a 5% weight loss!!!
--So how do you burn 150 lbs of bodyfat off your Sonic?--
Swap stock parts out for carbon fiber.
Ditch the dumbell stock exhaust for a lighter aftermarket.
Lose the spare/jack, carry a patch/pump kit.
Aftermarket drycell battery.
Lose or swiss cheese the bumper crash beam.
Lighter rims.
Etc.
In this thread please weigh any parts you remove or install, stock or aftermarket, and report your findings. And by all means express any other ideas you have to burn off more calories.
