Hello all,
I have a 2013 Chevy Sonic LTZ 1.8L Hatchback at 91,500 miles and it has been making a ticking noise accelerating from a dead stop while turning the wheel. It does not sound like a bad CV to me, as it does not match revolutions and is instead very rapid. I had a shop tell me it was bad control arm bushings when I got an oil change and I replaced the entire control arms stupidly without checking for myself because the bushings were fine when I got the arms out, but the ball joints were absolutely destroyed. I also replaced the sway bar bushings because the old ones were loose and causing a clunking noise.
After these two repairs the noise remains and it's really frustrating me. I thought for sure it would of been one of those badly worn components, but there must be something im missing. I've checked for looseness in rod ends and it doesnt seem like there is much play. The noise happens almost exclusively during right turns, but sometimes on left turns and appears to come from the drivers side front suspension.
At this point I am unsure how to proceed, every shop i've taken it to has said based on the noise they think it is the axles, but it just doesn't sound like a bad CV to me. I am worried it may be the strut mounts and I really don't want to throw more money at the car to replace something that isn't necessary. The CV boots look fine and are dry, do not appear to be leaking.
Here is a YouTube video of the clicking from the outside of my car, I have one from the inside too but realized after the fact I should probably not curse so much in a video im going to post on the forums, so I can make another one later if you guys have problems hearing this noise, sorry for the wind.

It is hard to tell but when I continue driving in a circle without stopping no noise happens after the initial ticking finishes, what you hear in the video at that point is gravel on the road and wind.
