Joe's Control Arm Review
I am so glad someone has now brought to the market, an upgraded bushing, that now exists to the factory control arms. A worthwhile investment and a better solution for daily driven sonic's over the ZZP units. Especially if you live in the salt belt of the US.
These arm's now let the car corner with confidence and more precise steering feel, with smoother transitions from LH and RH turns. The car feels better planted. Soaks up the bumps nicer while staying level. Much less wandering on the HWY despite having less than ideal front aero. There is a lot less nose dive from normal braking while running the encore upgrade. There is barely any added NVH from the new bushings. Ironically, made for a better ride quality with more feedback from the road. How a drivers car should be.
The install for these is a treat. Compared to the factory control arms, They are much easier to install and remove than the old factory units. You won't have to fight and wrestle with the TCAB to get the arm installed. It just slides in. Installation time was about 2.5-3 hrs.
A couple tricks for anyone doing the install. When you go to place the TCAB section of the arm in place, place the first spacer where the bolt hole is in the subframe. Then take the bolt and slide it through until you can see the end nearly flush with the spacer. Slide the arm in place and put the bolt further up to hold it. Then stick the top spacer in and line up the rest to have the bolt go all the way through on the sub-frame. After that, hand tighten the nut and slide the front bushing in place. I'll try and get pics of this later. Didn't get many during install on Saturday.
Thank you Joe for providing these to the market. I'm glad I did the install when I did honestly. The Passenger TCAB was looking pretty rough with stress cracks in the rubber and the ball join was like a joystick compared to my OEM driver side arm which was replaced back in July.
Pictures will be in later once I find a new photo sharing service.
