So I've read how a few people have tried replacing the stock speakers to get a little more sound out of them, especially those in the back, and we've all found that the stock head unit just doesn't put out enough power to run good aftermarket speakers. However, due to all the stuff that is controlled from the head unit, and the fact that nobody makes an adapter plate yet, we are stuck with the weak output of the stereo. But the solution is simple, an amplifier. I'm not talking about mounting a huge 2000wx4 amp to the back of the rear seat or anything crazy like that, how bout an amp that you can fit virtually anywhere, something that doesn't output more power than you're ever going to need. Well I believe Rockford Fosgate has come out with the solution.
Its the Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4.
6-3/4"L x 4-1/4"W x 1-1/2"H
4 ohms: 75 watts x 4 channel
Only requires 10gauge wire
Can find it as cheap as $180
Now this can take the speaker output wire from the stock head unit, send it through the amp and out to your new high power speakers. Another thing is you don't have to go hunting for a remote(trigger) lead to turn the amp on, it actually senses when voltage is sent through the speaker wire going into it. Now I know none of this is ground breaking technology, but I believe its compact size combined with the key features make it a suitable solution for anyone who is looking for a great sounding system without pulling away from the stock look inside or even breaking the bank.
Sorry for the rant guys
