Default Roll Cage?

Has anyone experimented with/seen/or done a roll bar/cage? I've been toying with the idea but havnt been able to find any kind of visual reference. Any input would be appreciated

There's very few builds out there because it's unnecessary. The Sonic doesn't go fast enough to require one in any motorsport except rally.

Ray Piloto campaigned a Sonic a few years ago in SPEC B, but everything done was custom.

BNR bought the Super Street Sonic build, it has a custom cage as well...adding unnecessary weight....

Unless you're doing stage rally you probably don't need one

We run scca time trails, roll bar at minimum is required.

Here's some pictures from a few years ago when I had the bar built

Speed has nothing to do with having a bar required or not. Whatever body is running the event will dictate that.

Most things over autox will require one as a minimum form of safety.

Pretty much why I'm asking, I'm going to be doing autox but they require at least a single roll bar behind the front seats (I'm ok with this since I won't totally lose my rear seats) with a harness bar ON the roll bar, according to their tech guys a floor mounted harness bar is a big no no idk why but dems duh rulz.

I've never heard of a autox requiring a roll bar?

What club will you be running with, scca NASA, ECT?

There's no off the shelf bar available, so custom fab is your only option.

Proper harness installing requires the belts go back from the driver and mount a few inches below the shoulder line. Adding length to the belt for it to goto the floor reduces it's effectiveness.

Find yourself some circle track or stock car guys, they usually do work at redneck rates and still build strong stuff.
