New shift knob and home made shift boot :)

Got myself a 6 star Dragonball and found some fabric I thought would go nice with the interior for a new boot still waiting on my lockout adapter what do you guys think

Looks nice! How did you go about removing the press fit knob and then attaching the new custom knob? Looking to do an aftermarket knob myself in the near future.

I used a strap wrench to remove the stock knob. Which was easy cause the rubber that was wrapped around it pulled right off cause it was so worn out. And tugged it right and left and gave some upward force too and it came off. I had the rod tapped to 10x1.25
And I had it tapped down to that because sickspeed makes reverse lockout adapters for that size and so do various other companies that make recessed knobs for the Veloster which uses the same diameter reverse lockout as we do so was relatively easy to find other knobs and such. The adapter I got doesn't quite hide the wide point of our reverse lockout like I wish it would but it hides the spring so that's really all I care about. We didn't get the rod tapped down quite as far as I would have liked either but I'll go back over it eventually and see if I can get the adapter a little lower to hide most of the wide part. But I'm not sure how far my knob will thread down so I wanna make sure they at least connect together without space in between if push comes to shove I'll shave the top portion of the rod down a quarter inch or so

Lol I actually just tossed em today. They have been there a while. It's funny almost anything that gets placed there tends to stay for a while. I've always had that one spot in all my cars that just collects junk. Lmao. My floor on passenger side as been like that till today for the past week with tools and such while I was trying to tap that rod by myself. Which ended up in failure hence why I paid someone to do it xD my dies just wouldn't cut. The adapter is quite a bit shorter than I'd like but it is what it is. I may end up honestly just removing the reverse lockout and cutting the rod down shorter and having it tapped again. IDK. That or finding some other way to go about the reverse lockout maybe like a custom shift knob. And by custom I mean I'll make it myself. Lol idk yet though. I'll see how it goes. For now it's okay and it's not bugging me too much.

You can thread on 1/2 x 20 it fits perfectly over the shift rod.
