I just picked up a used LTZ, under 5000 miles. I noticed the radio will only go to 12 on the volume. For some reason it stops. I can't figure out why....
I tried all the settings, but no luck. Any ideas? What am I missing here? Thanks for helping.
If I recall correctly, you can set a maximum volume.
When in park, hit the Config button and it should bring to some more radio settings not usually available. I can't remember exactly where it was, but I think it was in there.
I've tried all the configuration settings that have to do with the radio....even the ones that don't. The "Max Volume" setting only has to do with when the radio first turns on. (Keeps it from blasting). The auto volume is for road noise. Cant find a thing to just make the volume get past 12.
Looks like maybe a defective radio? I purchased it at a dealer that takes in Rental cars, so my guess is it didn't really bother anyone having a quiet radio.
Not the case with me. I need to hear Howard Stern Loud and Clear!!!
They ended up replacing the whole radio.....said the lack of volume was caused by a short inside the radio. Now the new problem is the pairing feature (To pair music) isn't showing up in the bluetooth configuration area.....
I believe that BT is taken care of by the OnStar module and someone skipped a step in the manual or your OnStar module is incompatible with what they put in.
Just had this happen to my Sonic the other day. Car is only 6mos old. Out of nowhere it suddenly wont go past 12 on the volume. At work I turned the car on, pulled the radio fuse out of the cluster panel and then put it back in. Radio works fine now.
Had to reset time and date but all my settings remained.
