I had a water issue, where if I parked on a slight incline where the driver side was lower than the passenger side, and the front was higher than the back, my passenger side floor became an in-car swimming pool. Come to find out, there was a Service Bulletin on this, but you have to have the problem of the car flooding before they tell you. Not a recall. Any way, 4 attempts and two dealers later it was resolved, but the filter area took a beating.
SO, I was shopping for a new air filter...
I found some decent priced ones on Amazon. I like the sound of the Carbon ones.

But I was buying a ton on eBay, so I looked there too. I found this place that sells a few versions compatible with the Sonic. This link is for a cheap, standard one, but within the page it has links for the Carbon one too.
Premium Quality A/C Cabin Filter 36154
I think I will try the carbon one from them. It's under $10.00.
Anyone else tried these?
I'm going to, and I'll post back...
