Default Oil filter brand?

I don't see how there isn't a thread on this already but couldn't find one.

Anyone have a oil filter brand preference, specifically on the 1.4T, though I assume its the same as the 1.8?

I noticed a WIX filter costs a few $ more than the OEM on rockauto.com but I wouldn't mind buying 6 or 8 of them if they are known to be better.

Opinions?

I think there IS a thread already, or maybe it's buried in one of the several oil preference threads, but I'll cut to the chase.

I prefer WIX (pn 57674).Its easy for me to pick up at the local part store. Also I here you can't go wrong with Delco.

Many have slammed FRAM for poor testing results.

I do my changes at about every 4k, which may sound obsessive, but I feel that my track days cook it pretty hard.

I also stock up on 2-3 at a time, because its not like I won't need another one soon. Any time the mood strikes me, I have everything in my garage to make it happen.

Also with running corn you have to change oil more often.

I do mine around every 9K on the Sonic using M1 so a good filter is a must.

Not sure whats gonna happen with the Cruze as the wife is getting a new job so the Cruze will see a lot of 5 mile trips where the Sonic sees 45+ mile trips most of the time.

Do the WIX seem to be better filters than the Delco?

I trust that the OEM filters are probably excellent. I just find convenience in going to the parts store over dealing with the mentally inept people at my local dealer.

Rockauto has OEM for something like $4.33 each. To me it makes sense to order 8 or 10 and just have them on hand.

I prefer Mobile 1 or K&N filters. I couldn't find one for it when I did my oil change so I picked up a few factory filters from the dealer.
