Did fixing the heads get the cooling fan to come on again like normal?

I have a 2016 1.8L chevy sonic that had a coolant leak on the thermostat housing. Replaced the thermostat housing and heater inlet pipe and now the cooling fan doesnt come on unless the AC is on max, causing the car to overheat. I thought the new thermostat sensor may be defective so replaced it...
