    Hittin' the road soon...

Once my sales of leftover Sonic goodies are finalized, I'll be hitting the road. Traded up for a 2013 Malibu yesterday. Just wanted to say that I thought this forum was very well run and the little bit of comradery between the members enjoyable. It also got me into my first true mods on any...

Weapon-r intake, all weather mats, trifecta tuning cable

**SOLD&Shipped**The Weapon-R intake was used for only 3 weeks. Still in excellent condition and will include all original accessories, box, etc. Asking $160 shipped via UPS ground to anywhere UPS ships (lower 48?). There's a minor scuff on the underside of the intake (likely from the mounting...

    CAI cleaner

I have a Weapon-r on the way and was thinking I would start looking now at getting some cleaner for the intake's filter media. I guess they make specific cleaner but it costs $8-10. Is there another alternative cleaner I can buy, maybe even something local at an automotive store? I have...

TPM tuning glitch? [Hard downshifting with Auto tranny]

I'm posting this here because the issue seems to be very recent since I applied the initial tune to my vehicle Monday. The BNR forums look abandoned and not sure this requires a ticket... It appears that during a downshift (braking) between third and second, or possibly second to first...

    Opinions -- mud flaps

Most of my vehicles have had them. My Sonic does not. But does it really matter? The wheels seem well tucked behind the fender so not sure how much debris I would expect flaps to repel. For the investment in time/money are they really worth the value?

    USB cable alternatives

Hopefully I'm not stepping on too many toes pointing out the obvious fact $150 is a bit much for a USB cable... So I went online to see about alternatives and found a few, like: Free Shipping AUTO SCANNER ELM327 OBDII OBD2 OBD II 2 CAN BUS USB V1.4 scan Any reason I'm not aware of this...

Variation on a theme - gas grades, trifecta tune for MPG increase

I know I've seen the short answer to question 1 in another thread but was looking for more specifics, and another related item... Question 1 -- I've read here that using premium fuel in a stock 1.8L will have no benefit. I wonder about this. When I accelerate I sometimes here...

    Tighten up the ride

Has anyone explored getting new stabilization (roll/sway) bars for the Sonic? I know with some past vehicles aftermarket had them available, to help tighten up the car on turns, etc.

Rotors warping with under $1,000 miles?

Hi all, Other than the rotors issue, I'm very pleased thus far with my Sonic. It seems that braking from higher speeds reveals something I noticed at lower speeds -- a slight shutter and pulsing of the front discs. It's not above any manufacturer to put cheap discs on cars. All it takes is a...
