I just picked up lunch, and on the way back to the shop was thinking that I needed to post a thread explaining I would move forward with this if I had 4-5 people ready to put up some cabbage....
Thanks Zach!
In order to move forward, I'll have to take my car apart to build jigs. The idea of doing that for 1-2 people wasn't an exciting prospect. BTW, I would rather supply the turbos. The money I make from selling them offsets the labor in taking my car apart, and the time consumed by building jigs.
I'll need payment up front. Depending on what parts you have, this may vary. I'll be glad to go over individual cost with anyone wanting to purchase this as well as options. Get me 4 people ready to do this, and we can proceed. I'm the only person here at the shop. Building 4 kits could potentially take me a month to complete so be prepared for that.
I'm still unsure about how to get the tune needed to make all this work to individuals who purchase a kit. You guys may need to purchase HPTuners in order for this to work. I can sell that with the kit as well if need be. Another thing, my car is a 2013. I know for a fact the 2012 cars have different cam phasers. This means the values I've found to make power will be completely different for the 2012, and there is potential for the 2014 to be different as well(I have no idea). You should understand that some tweaking of the tables in HPTuners, for your particular set up will likely be needed.
This upgrade could easily "window" the engine block if the end user is careless or too greedy for more power. Just because mine hasn't blown up , doesn't make that norm and not the exception. I'm not trying to scare anyone off, but there are potential risks associated with this kind of power.
If a big concern for you, is "How will my gas mileage going to be affected" this may not be for you. You WILL lose a few MPG, and maybe more depending on how you drive it. Keep your foot out of it, and your mileage should remain the same, but the larger fuel injectors required, spray a lot more fuel when asked.
That's all I've got time for now. I can pick this discussion back up later.
Thanks
