also, it would be helpful to specify which engine and whether it is the automatic or manual. thanks.

1.8 with auto here. Starting about 65mph on the highway, the dash showed like 32mpg average. After some stop/go on city streets, now it's showing about 30.

1.8L 5SPD Manual Sedan LTZ

1st tank: 305 miles on 10.4 gallons = 29.32 mpg, Mixed driving but new car/first tank, combined, calculated
2nd tank: 320 miles on 9.8 gallons = 32.65 mpg, Mixed driving mostly highway, combined, calculated

2nd tank can be attributed to more highway miles and a better feel for the shifting. Also, I didn't get "on it" as much I'm pretty confident now that 32-33 mpg will be my average.

As a side note, the real-time MPG indicator is pretty darn accurate.

After a few days of mostly city driving, my reported avg is down to 25.6mpg. Oh well it's still pretty good and it's really fun to drive.

yeah. i expect a 35 mpg rated car under the current epa system to at least be around 40 mpg's on a mostly highway tank.....especially now, when AC is not needed as much and the winter formulated gasoline is not in use yet.

My first official tank of gas got me a combined average 29.6 mpg in a 1.8L auto sedan.

Combined meaning highway, city, AC on at times, and racing a civic through traffic.

Driving really easy without the AC on (or racing) I saw 34.6 mpg but I prolly won't see that very often

And x2 on the accuracy of the mpg display. right on the money !!!!

2LT HB 1.8 Auto

Average about 32mpg which is about 35% 70mph+ driving, 35% 65mph w/ stoplight every 5-10 miles, and 30% bumper to bumper traffic with pockets of 60mph.

Around 60mph you can get more than the 35 it seems, but mixing in my other driving events, both tanks have come out to 32.

Coming from my Exploder, I still smile every time I see $29 on the pump!!
