Hello, I'm Ben. After 14 years of driving the only vehicle I've ever had (a 1998 Nissan Frontier), I took ownership of a brand new black Sonic LZ sedan. It's kind of a funny story, with a little drama mixed in, but no regrets whatsoever.
These have been THE most helpful forums in my first 72 hours of owning. Thank you to all those who have come before and offered valued answers.
I read one thread about how a person thought their A/C wasn't on because the status lights don't come on when you remote start, until you turn the key. I was freaking out because I thought this too. I mean, what's the point of remote start if not to get the environment in the car the way you want before you get in? Fortunately, it was just that the lights don't come on and indeed she was blowing cold.
I've also read a few helpful posts on connecting an iPhone via Bluetooth or through the USB port. Didn't know I had to establish two bluetooth connections (hands-free and music). I've tried playing music both ways and I can't decide which way to do it, because there are annoying quirks with each.
With bluetooth, there's a pretty heavy battery drain, so I find myself plugging in the phone anyway for charge. Except when I do that, the source changes, and I have to go back to Bluetooth. (I know, #firstworldproblem, right? Ha.) Plus, you don't get the track information. Just "iPhone 4S" on the screen. So I'm inclined to plug in an use Aux.
With using the auxiliary port, I get to see my playlists and choose them from the audio system. However, to actually start playing a playlist, I have to choose a song--the first is naturally easiest--every time, then tap seek (with shuffling turned on in the prior menu) so I don't hear the same song every time I start. It seems like if I turn on shuffle, then when I choose a playlist by pushing the tune button, it should just start playing it and not make me actually choose a song to start with. Is there no way to just start playing that playlist without having to pick a song in it?
I do like that it shows what track is playing. But when it comes to Spotify, there's a bug. (And from what I read Spotify and Chevy are supposed to be tight.) When I'm playing Spotify it shows the first track that plays but the display never changes after that for subsequent songs. Weird. Anyone seen this?
So how do you guys do it?
