NewZJ, you are correct.
When it comes to electronics, I like to have a A+B=C, no frills, design, where it has everything I need right from the box. No need to install launchers or clocks, or widgets.
I'm mechanical. I like simplicity, and knowing a bolt can only mate with a nut of the same thread and pitch. That way I can move on to focusing my decisions on more demanding tasks.
To me, Androids feel great for a Carpenter type person, where there are essentially 10,000 different ways to build the same final product. In which you can choose any type of nail, screw, adhesive, and tools you desire.
I'm sure lots of people prefer that option. I however can't live like that. I'll build a porch if I absolutely have to, but I prefer to put bolts where I know they go.
I also abuse the use of analogies on occasion.
