I got the Sonic in addition to my F150. The truck was getting old, and I figured if I had a DD I could limp that thing along another 5 years by using it only for cargo purposes. To help, I took some sword boxes along and refused to even test drive anything that couldn't fit the items I carry the most often.
I figured I'd be driving the Sonic 50% of the time.
Instead I drove the Sonic 95% of the time, because it works much better than I expected as a cargo vehicle, there's very little I can't carry in the little thing, plus I got a roof rack to make that even less an issue, and a hitch and trailer are in the works to make it even -less- of an issue.
But the F150 continued to see a lot of use, because I also got a GF, who had no car, so she drove the truck. Then we replaced the F150 with an old Durango for her, as the F150's engine blew up. One of my employees, who had been borrowing the F150 a lot, ended up having the engine replaced, and paid me a couple hundred bucks for it. So it's still on the road. In theory I was supposed to be able to borrow it when I needed it, but that never worked out and he no longer works for me. So here I am, truckless.
For the little I used it though, since buying the Sonic, I'm not really concerned. If I get desperate (and I have done this once so far) Uhaul rents pickups cheap.
