I haven't posted here in a while but I need to confess that I sold my Sonic a while back and purchased a 2016 Hyundai Tucson. I needed the extra room and something a bit more substantial (comfortable) for longer distance rides. But I must also confess:
I MISS MY SONIC!!!
It was such a sweet, tossable little thing. With a turbo and 6 speed manual that car was so much fun. Of course I am choosing to forget the many times I was stuck in traffic and absolutely hated stomping on the clutch every 10 seconds.
Thankfully I love my Hyundai. Great build quality, comfortable, tight turning radius, and the drivetrain is solid ... although the vehicle is slow.
Anyway, I hope Chevy continues with the Sonic. I would never hesitate in recommending the Sonic, especially for the younger driver (oldies like me typically tire of driving a stick shift after awhile).
