2013 Sonic Manual Tranny Fill Plug

My first post to a forum that has a lot of great info. I'm not new to car forums, and used a diesel truck forum to help me with my 99' Ford diesel installing a new clutch, but my first one here. My issue is I'm helping my daughter's boyfriend trying to drain and fill his 2013 Sonic hatchback with a manual transmission. I'm not sure if it's the 5 or 6 speed, but I can't find where the fill hole is. I've seen where people have posted an 8mm hex head bolt is what it is, but after pulling the battery tray and removed the module attached to it, I couldn't find where that hex head is. Since I couldn't find that, I haven't tried looking for the drain plug underneath. I've attached 2 photos (assuming I did it right!) showing the top of the tranny after pulling the battery tray off and looking down from the top. There is a bolt that has a black cap on it, but that didn't look anything like the 8mm hex bolt described. Thanks for the help in advance!

I recall it should be on the left side of the ecm, also I think just behind it. I didn't need to touch the battery so if you zoom out I can pin point it. Good luck, you using amsoil Synchromesh?

I will see if I can get a wider picture. I'm not sure what he wants to use. I think he's leaning towards Royal Purple or Redline. I called the dealer yesterday about what the tranny gear lube was, and they quoted me $33.00 per bottle of what they called BOT-303. Ouch. I assume the fill plug is an embedded 8mm hex head plug into the top of the tranny housing, somewhere to the left of the ECM? And it takes 2.5 qts.?

Mine's on the transmission, driver's side towards the firewall, or "back" of the transmission. It's the only 10mm hex head nut there.
On top of my tranny, under the 3 big plugs going to the car's computer is a smaller 8mm hex head nut. I'm not 100% it's not really a torx T-50 nut, but my 8mm fit in there with some hammer whacks.

I had to unplug the 3 big plugs going into the car's PC, remove the PC and move the main plug wiring loom to have enough room to get a good grip.

Was easy.

Be aware it will come out fast at an angle, then quickly empties and come out straight down! So be ready to move that catch can fast!
