2013 Sonic Thermostat heater sensor

Hi family can anyone tell me how exactly the thermostat heater sensor works? It's possible for the car to keep running without overheating even when the sensor fail? I'm solving a thermostat heater sensor mil and after buying two Chinese crap in Amazon the car over heats like if the thermostat it's not opening.

Did you bleed the coolant system after install?

Radiator Temperature sensor or Thermostat housing sensor? Please show a picture.

Replace coolant bottle cap, check any leakage on all the hoses and fix if there's any.
