Question..... will a tune be required with the forge atmospheric bypass valve that BNR sells?
Huh ? Nope, I've a BNR which replaced my OEM valve, no issues, ~37mpg
The OEM is atmospheric, just plastic, both valves dump air from the intake into the atmosphere.
No tune, just check my build thread for some tips and pics
Forge Motorsports 1.4T Atmospheric Bypass Valve
BLOWOFF valves are a different matter though.

here's mine installed, yeah it's not atmospheric (the box says it is, but I just went and looked...it's sealed, so my air dumps into the RIGHT spot)
Thanks for the clarification![]()
Well if you are installing the BOV and tune at the same time it doesn't matter which order you do it in, I just wouldn't suggest driving the car without the tune.
I know with the Trifecta tune, you could tune before install (called an ECP tune if I recall correctly) and drive the car regardless of whether or not you installed the BOV. However, I wouldn't install the BOV and then drive the car without tuning.
With how busy he is lately you can't really tune and install it at the same time. That's why I was wondering if he could tune for it before installing it because with the amount of work load hes got its a few days before he gets back to you.
I can confirm that you do NOT need a tune to run the Forge atmospheric BOV. It works just fine on the stock tune. Been running it for 2 or so weeks while I wait on Jerry for a tune with no issues.
If the ecu isn't looking for the purge air back through the intake it doesn't matter, but the stock ecu does.Just wondering, why go with atmospheric purge over recirculating? I tried to do some research on this and it doesn't seem to provide any difference other than the way it releases pressure.

Yes, this is what ive come to understand, that without a tune you'll end up running rich. Personally I'll probably just end up getting the forge recirculating instead of atmospheric. I like not having to mess with the ecu if I don't have toIf the ecu isn't looking for the purge air back through the intake it doesn't matter, but the stock ecu does.
To get the most out of an atmospheric dump it's best to run a tune, but I'm seeing them run without for a short time (waiting for tune)
....if it has tits or tires it can be upgraded
