Backfires?

I used to get backfires all the time! Now I don't.

I have to swap between the Anaconda system and stock pieces in order to pass inspection along with flashing back to the stock tune.

The first year I had the fun stuff in, I felt like I had a gun attached to the back of my car. Every semi-aggressive shift resulted in a very loud blast out of the tail pipe.

The second year was the same.

This time around, nothing! What happened? I have been using the same tune. I have never data logged it. I always do the swap myself. I always replace my gaskets.

There is a missing variable here that I can't find. Any ideas?

What do you mean by backfires? You mean little pops and crackles? Or do you mean that "loud" pop when you shift hard at like 5k RPM? If you want the pops and crackles just take off your muffler and or resonator. You should run one or it will get annoying in the car though. But if it sounds like a gunshot out of the tail pipe from driving in a fun way then idk.

Yes, I still get pops and crackles. I am not running a resonator and the muffler I'm using is a straight-through.

I'm talking about actual gunshot sounds. It used to sound like a .45 shooting out of the back of the car after every aggressive shift.

VROOOOM *BANG* VROOOOOOM *BANG* VROOOOOOM

Now it's more of a wooshing sound. It just sounds smoother.

Hmmm. Idk. Like I said I get something kinda like that but only when I'm shifting hard at like 5k RPM or so. Never like at 3k or something low like that. It's like a loud pop except I don't know how loud it is because the resonator keeps things pretty quiet inside the cabin. Either way I don't think it's good for the car. If you figure it out though let me know because that sounds pretty cool.

I believe they are +35 offset

Not to change subject, but that wheel setup u got is siiick. I would love to set up mine like that, but I gave up on modding my Sonic, after having to deal with one thing after another, and now it's my beater. ..having said that tho, I still love it for what it is, and keeping it till it blows up, which could be any day now.
