Bluetooth and music?

I apologize if I posted this thread in the wrong area, but I just brought my 2012 Sonic home from the dealership yesterday. The dealer walked through the basics with us, and stated that the bluetooth works with music on my phone. Great. We set up hands-free, and then we were on our way. I had planned to work it out at home (well at first I thought hands-free covered music as well, so I didn't feel the need to ask about it), so I looked up how to do it, and the car doesn't even give me the music option under bluetooth settings, only hands free. Now, I wonder if I reset factory settings, if it would come up? Or does it not even come with the LS?

Assuming it is like my 2015 LS, it does NOT have bluetooth music built in. I plugged a bluetooth receiver into the AUX plug for playing music from my iPod. Works well.

For mine I have to be paired for hands free calling and then paired as a different device for music. Look through the settings, it's pretty easy to find.

That's what confuses me though. When I go into the settings, there is no option whatsoever for media. Only hands-free. I'm going to assume that it's a no-go for the LS. When I get home I'll play with it a little more. According to the salesman, it is possible in my car, but I'm taking his word with a grain of salt. :/ Oh well. If I still can't figure it out i'll give him a call or just buy a cord. I'm just looking for decent quality output, because with my FM transmitter, it's absolutely horrible. It's a shame because the sound quality coming out of the speakers while using the radio itself is quite good.

Do you have the USB port in the upper glove box? I know my LT when they replaced the radio the usb port didnt work and there was no media..they had to reprogram it they said.

Ok..my son plugs his iPhone into the usb port all the time. I get to listen to his kid rap music.
Not sure it works with android..

I had the same radio and same issues... it will work with the phone part but failed with music. So I did get a new head unit and use the aux for the iTouch and usb
