Chevy Sonic Transmission(?) Issue

I have a 2013 Chevy Sonic Turbo, with about 83000 miles, that I've had for 2 years. Today as soon as I turned the ignition and put it in reverse I felt a large jerk and I noticed the "check engine" light was on. I put in Drive and noticed the indicator light that shows what gear the cars in, was blinking.

Does anyone know what might be wrong? I've never really had a problem with it until today.

Been a long time ago, but I also have a 2013 1.4T sedan with the automatic. There was a TSB or recall (not sure which) for certain VINs for a potentially fractured input shaft from the engine to transmission. They took mine apart and found it to be fine. Maybe yours was cracked all along and finally gave up. I'd call your local GM dealer and have them run your VIN.

EDIT: The TSB/recall might have been on one of my 2012's with the 1.8L - not sure. Seems that the 2013 just leaked trans fluid through the seal on the engine end. Keeping track of the repairs on three of these cars over the last 7.5 yrs can be confusing...

TCM module probably needs a reflash.

I looked up the VIN on the recall site and the only recall I saw was something for a "BYOM" radio. I think the transmission recalls were only for the 2012 models.

I have same problem with my 2014.

In middle of dealing with same , car is in “limp” mode and mine feels like I’m driving with the emer. Brake on?

if that’s your case too you’re prolly gonna get a. U0101 “lost connection with TCM” code…. Hopefully it’s just a reflash as skurtov stated,
in my case car overheated and coolant sprayed all over Tcm and it needs to be replaced.. hope this helps. Cheers
