Coolant Reservoir Bleed Line

Hey guys, got a leak out of the plastic thermostat top line that I believe is that coolant air bleed line. The o ring looks like it took a set but I can’t get the connector to get anywhere near down the hole to run the metal clip into it. Is it a safe bet that the O-ring is the only thing stopping me or has anyone had internal plastic grooves break inside the tube?

Anyone with experience on this? Anyone know the O-ring size?

Did you replace any of these parts, or just reinstalling the same pieces?
The O-ring and "restrictor" may just need some coolant applied for lubrication.
The restrictor needs to seat flush with the top of the water outlet housing in order for the retaining clip to go in.
