I don't know how you folks stand so much bass boost. Don't get me wrong, I love a solid and prominent bass within the frequency spectrum, but even at 0 bass on the stock system, it sounds boomy and muddy IMO.
You can of course set them differently for each source because each source sounds different, and it remains in memory. My settings:
USB: -7 bass, +1 mid, +7 treble
XM: -3 bass, +1 mids, +3 treble
FM: -4 bass, +0 mids, +5 treble
With the above settings, the bass is less prominent but tighter and cleaner.
Currently I'm set at Bass 12, Midrange 8, Trebble 11, and Fader +3 Rear.
You have unnecessary boost across the range which adds extra stress on the preamp section of the head-unit. Ultimately you want to keep the average of your settings as close to '0' as possible, so subtract 10 from each of your bands which brings you to +2 bass, -2 mids, +1 treble.
You should get the same EQ curve and sound as your current setting, and with less stress on the HU, but will require a higher volume setting to get the same volume.
