Heat shield on Intake?

I was looking at the DDM Works Air Intake for my car, and it's an extra 60 bucks for the heat shield...Is it really worth the money?

are you looking at the intake because it sounds cool and looks fancy? if so then no u dont need the heat shield.

do you want the intake for more power? if yes then you want the heat shield so you can get more cold air into the engine.

It would be for both, but I think I might just buy some metal an create my own heat shield rather than spending 60 bucks for it.
