Help car is running lean all of a sudden.

I was driving around the when I took off the car kinda feel on its face for a second and then it was fine. Now I’m getting an engine light every once in a while and now when I try to take off the car hesitates for a second before it goes. Has anyone had this happen to them before or know what is causing it?

Yes, if that port for the crankcase pressure regulator disc is sucking air it is gone (non-servicable part). You will need a new valve cover. You are also going to want to check the pcv check valve in the intake manifold.

Pirate Luke has a running post with all the information on it.

Put your finger over the hole while the engine is running to seal it, you should be able to feel it as well as the engine will stop idling rough.

Update! I took the car to the dealer to have it fixed under warranty. So the crankcase pressure valve was leaking and the cause of the car running lean. Because the valve failed all the air that was sucked into the engine cause the oil pan gasket, oil filter housing gasket, intake gasket, crankcase seal, and something else inside the engine which they didn’t tell me the part. All of those gaskets and seals blew out and were leaking as well as a oil line from the oil cooler was leaking as well. Such a little valve caused oh so much damage.

Can the pcv in the intake failing cause the valve cover pcv to go? I have the same problem, and new valve cover in hand but hesitant to swap it out before doing the pcv fix on the manifold (which isn't entirely gone but grungy) if it is just going to pop my valve cover again.

I’m not sure but if this helps the dealer put a new intake on as well as a new valve cover. So it if very possible that you are right and the intake can cause the valve cover to fail or the other way around.

Could the underlying issue be the pcv then? A reverse of cause and effect? I can just try to do it all in one weekend so I don't have to worry
