Innovative performance chip

So I was browsing through amazon at sonic stuff and came across an innovative performance chip for the sonic 1.4 or 1.8 and the company states it gives you 35 hp and +5 mpg and offer lifetime warranty and cash back guarantee. I'm wondering how true this could be..it reminds me of the electric superchargers that are basically computer fans and don't do a damn thing. any thoughts? heres the link to it

There is no theoretical reason this couldn't work; basically a hardware version of a tune upgrade. However, the internet seems convinced that these are always worthless... and I and many others here on the forum can tell you you will actually get what they are merely promising from one of the several software versions of a tune.

No. Just no. Buy a real tune.

All these do is fake the signals going into the ECM. I.e. tell the ECM the coolant is colder than it actually is= more fuel. Tell ECM intake air temps are lower = add timing. Recipe for disaster as it's simply a fooler box.

No, multiple people have fallen for this crap, opened the box, and found a resistor in a fancy case. It has no way to interface with the car's sensors or computer to enable it to have any ability to use proper fuel maps. It's snake oil, plain and simple. Click on the seller's name, and find any of their other identical products with a review.
