My check engine light will turn on for a couple days, then turn off for a couple days. Been doing this for a month or so now. Has this happened to anyone else?

That's what happens to me. I got it scanned at the O'Reilly's near me and it was a code "P00E9." Looked it up in the owner's manual and via Google, it was my gas cap. The gasket on the cap was bad enough it would trip my CEL, but good enough that it would go away after a few cycles of the car running. Replaced the cap, hasn't reared its ugly head again...yet.

Do you have an OBD-II code scanner to find out which code(s) come up?
My Sonic also does this, but only when it rains. Moisture is triggering the Check Engine Light (specifically the knock sensor circuitry) so I get codes P0324, P0326, P0327, and P0328 every time it rains. The light shuts off when the car dries.
What are the conditions that trigger the CEL or does it seem random?

Many auto parts stores offer free code scanning if you do not have an OBDII code reader. Hopefully it's something simple.
