Iphone/Ipod (via USB)

I've been using my iPhone4 (iOS5) with the USB port. I like the sound in this car. One little quirk though is that when I'm listening to music from the iPhone while set to Shuffle (on the car's sound system), the name of the song and artist change for each song, but the album name doesn't unless I skip to the next song. If I play five straight songs, all five will show the album name of the first song. Anyone else see this?

I solved the problem by changing the display so I can't see the album name.

I don't use my iPhone as a Bluetooth music device because I can't get calls through the car's Bluetooth system. That only works if it's paired as a phone.

I have my iPhone paired to both the phone/onstar and the radio and it does work. While playing music it muted itself for incoming calls. You pair them seperatly to different names even.

One quirk I noticed though is I can't use the iPod cord with USB if its activly paired to the phone via BT for radio. It acts like its playing, but no audio comes from the speakers.

I prefer to use the cable honestly, because BT audio doesn't show the artist and such.

I've also noticed on my car that if the phone isnt close to the radio, it can occasionally cut out on bluetooth.

So... in general I'd say there are some bugs in the system.

I'm picking up my Sonic early next week and was wondering if I plug my iPod into the USB port in the upper storage area, do I have to unplug it when I park the car for the night so it doesn't drain the battery. Or does that just pertain to anything plugged into the 12 volt power outlet?

Once you turn the car off and open the door it kills the power to the USB port. So I think you should be fine.

I've been using my iPhone via the USB connection lately and have noticed that too, but only when first powering up the radio before the Bluetooth music connection has been made. Try plugging the data cable in after the Bluetooth connection has been made (after the radio's display says "Connected" and the little music note appears).

As Gimpster said, you can pair it as both a phone and a music device at the same time and the phone connection will take priority upon an incoming or outgoing call when using it as a streaming music device.
