You will not damage your motor with this stuff in the system. I use the stuff in the sonic with good results. 50k miles with using the stuff and she still runs strong. No need to worry.
Stock tune+good gas and maintenance, then yeah realistically it's probably a waste of money on a Sonic that is in good shape with no issues. But you should know by now that car guys always have things that they use/do that are sworn by for whatever reason and it's always best to let it be (as long as it's not hurting the engine).

Anything added to the oil that causes it to foam, which Lucas is guilty of, reduces the number of molecules of lubricant in the places it needs to be.
Just because somebody does something that they have always done doesn't mean it's right. If I had evidence that the product was good beyond "I've always used it and never had problems" then I'll treat it better.

Microscopic bubbles or visible bubbles?
I've never seen bubbles while using the non-synthetic.
Also that gear thing they have in the auto parts store is really selling it. 2 spins and the oil is at the top and thick all the way down.

That was mostly a bunch of bad reviews and a couple good ones.
I don't care what it is as long as it works.
No disrespect is meant to you by this, but that did nothing for me
. I guess the best thing to do is throw some of it in my truck and see how it handles it first. I don't do many miles and change the oil often.

It does start to foam after some time but by that time your already due for an oil change anyway.

I'm at 53K miles with nothing other than Mobile 1 in the engine and doing changes every 10K.
I wouldn't put anything made by Lucas even in my lawn mower. My reasoning is they seem to be the kind of company that likes to try and sell people miracles in a bottle.

The gear thing at autoparts stores is a joke. It doesn't show anything even close to what actually takes place in an engine.
That's my opinion on the subject anyway.

It's nothing more then a quick fix for some things like low oil pressure.
The only thing I've tried using in my cruze is the coolent additive keeps the temp 8deg lower then what I'm tuned at which is 199deg
