Noise when accelerating ...

I've noticed when I'm accelerating there's a persistent buzzing/humming sound that kinda sounds like when you stick a playing card in bicycle spokes (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tvLe-_TPRY) ... but not very loud. Is this the flywheel spinning? Is this a normal sound?

I occasionally experience something that may be similar to yours. So far I only hear it when accelerating from a stop in 1st gear but only while the clutch is still in transition. It's like a faint chattering sound that only last about a second and is a similar sound you hear when the traction control system senses a tire slipping but not as loud and is coming from deep within the dash/firewall area.
In my case the tires are definitely not slipping so it's still a mystery.

This rattle noise comes from the plastic cover of the timing belt.
A design flaw, this cover is somewhat loose.
Try fixing a rubber tape between in the internal part of the cover where it touches the engine. You will need professional help to do so.

Correct. I have used foam for the last 35,000 miles. I would try to find a foam that is heat resistant. It should take care of it. Do not use spray foam.
